Miss Havisham - Crazy old woman who lives alone as a recluse. On the day of her wedding, her Fiance abandoned her and she therefore tries to take out her revenge on all men.
Estella - beautiful adopted daughter of Miss Havisham; biological daughter of criminals. Thinks she is better than everyone. She taunts Pip. Miss Havisham trains her to mistreat and hate all men. After surviving an abusive marriage, she becomes a softer and kinder woman.
Georgiana Gargery - Older sister of Pip. She is very abusive to him because she feels that she has done everything for him with no thanks. She is killed
Biddy - Pip's friend who helps Georgiana (Pip's sister) after she is attacked. Pip confides in her and she understands him so well that she can see through him.

Woman in this novel have a very strong presence and dominance over the male characters. Miss Havisham was double-crossed by a man and therefore exacts as much revenge as possible upon any man that comes near her. This revenge and hatred drives her to insanity. Because of her advanced age, it can be assumed that she trains and "breeds" Estella to take after her and carry on in her footsteps of revenge. Once Estella experiences a man who holds a very firm dominating grip on her and is abusive towards her, her demeanor changes and she becomes softened and almost normal. Georgiana is also a woman filled with anger. Hers is more of a current hatred of men. She is frustrated with her role of mother and caretaker of Pip. Because of this, she takes out her anger on him, physically.
