** Sane or Insane **

Madness was something not fully understood in Victorian Society.  This was the beginning of the study of mental illnesses, because of the increase and development of factories, many more asylums were built and expanded to house more patients.  There were very few ways to deal with someone exhibiting any form of madness.  A woman being affected by anything from depression to anxiety could have been sent to an asylum for madness.  Odd behaviors and familial traditions of madness were also frowned upon and institutionalized.
